Graduation Friendship

We’re graduating, and we know
Our lives will be different and new;
We’re going out into the world,
Our goals and dreams to pursue.

But one thing will never, ever change,
As we go our separate ways;
The friends we’ve made in school will be
Our friends for all our days.

The special ties and attachments we’ve made,
These bonds will never be broken;
We’ll continue to feel that special bond,
Though words may not be spoken.

So it’s not "goodbye," but rather "farewell;"
I’ll see you again, my friend.
Your friendship means a lot to me,
And it will never end.

We wish for you a joy-filled transition
from from the shelter of school
to the wide world

We wish for you new, stimulating friendships,
while you cherish old friends,
who provide continuity and comfort.
We wish for you a smooth path
on your journey to your chosen destination,
and as much delight in your off-road adventures
as there is in reaching your goal.
Congratulations, graduate!
May the world embrace you, excite you,
and strengthen you in everything you do.

Grad

The more I look back on all the happy times
The easier it is for me to realize
That friends are much more then hellos and goodbyes
It all comes down to what you have inside.

Yes, some are good singers and some are athletic
But that doesn't matter (are you starting to get it?)
All that is important is the feeling inside
If your white or black or green or blue eyed.

For me to sit and say "I wont miss this old place"
Is wrong and untrue (cant you tell it in my face?)
All the friends and teachers meant so much to me
I don't know any place that I'd rather be.

"Those were the days," I'd hear my parents say.
Cherish their years...each and everyday
The people you'll meet and the places you'll go
And the hurt once thats gone is more then you'll know.

All my friends i will be leaving
All my friends I'll be losing is my greatest fear
Promise you wont forget me as i go away,
Promise me I'll be welcome back to see you someday!

Graduation

Todays this so-called big day.
I haven't slept,
and I started my day being a drunken mess.

Rehersal went well.
As the countdown decreased, so did the rum.
I was still nervous as you can tell.

I was all dolled up, ready to strut.
Perfectly straight hair, and blood shot eyes.

The lack of sleep made me a nuisance, questions began to rise.
All I can do is deny, all I could do is lie.

I had a blast, I felt so strange.
It had nothing to do with the drugs, nor the rum.
It was me, this step, my life was starting to change.
